2017 press release

Austin, TX – 1 May 2017 – The FREE, all-ages Lone Star Zine Fest is going down at Cheer Up Charlie’s on the afternoon of Sunday, June 11th. Join over 30 zine creators, collectives, distributors, retailers, libraries, and small presses for an exhibition showcasing a diverse array of independent publishing talents from Central Texas and beyond!

The exhibition runs from 1pm-4pm, and we invite you to come buy zines directly from the creators, learn about zine libraries and places you can buy zines both locally and online, and even learn to make a mini-zine of your own at our kid-friendly zine making area. Stick around after for a zine reading / performance / hang out/ happy hour from about 4:30-6pm.

Lone Star Zine Fest is organized by a local group of zine-loving volunteers and sponsored by the University of Texas Libraries, Sherwood Forest Zine Library, Town Talk Library, and Josh Ronsen.
